This vintage walnut chair was made in 1974 by the H. Krug Furniture Company in Kitchener, Ontario. The chair seems to be mid-century modern but considering it was made in the 70s, perhaps it’s more mid-century modern inspired. I’m really curious to know more about this chair – If you know more about it or the Krug Furniture company, please leave a comment below!
These repairs are not complicated but they do require a finicky glue-up. I’m really happy with how cleanly the joints went together and like every chair repair, it was a satisfying educational experience. Working out of my apartment, I really wanted to avoid any refinishing or sanding, so I’ll call it a success! I’m excited to own a piece of mid-century modern (inspired?) design – this aesthetic holds a special place in my heart. The upholstery is a little on the worn side but I really like the original walnut brown and green color combination.
