Drill powered metal roller bender – DIY Roller Bender

In this video I make a drill powered roller bender that can be used to roll steel and aluminum strips. I made this roller bender mainly from 40 x 4 mm steel strips and I also used some 20×20 mm corner profile to reinforce it.
This roller bender is a nice tool to bend metal or to roll rings.

  • It's a very good video my friend , and it's easy , thank you for that video

  • Why didn't you tig Las this project it would of been way easier

  • Awesome video!!! Might make one of these this weekend! Very cool design for a expensive tool!

  • have a nice day. Make a metal roller bender's Solidworks drawing

  • I like your videos because they help understand how otherwise complex machines work. You would be an excellent teacher.

  • Too much welding when you could have just used angle iron throughout, in this design. Surprising that you have a lathe but no MIG welder! Whats the point of using a drill to crank the roller? Usually for production work if your in a hurry or not strong enough to crank by hand. Without a lathe you could have attached a piece of pipe over 2 drive bearing and then welded a crank arm onto the pipe or a drive shaft for your drill. Using a lathe is unnecessary to achieve just as good results. Next time you Arc weld use thinner welding rods and a higher temperature to get the rod to flow into the metal otherwise it looks like a worm on your welding and you have to grind too much off to make it smooth.
