  • about 90% of that style blower I work on are always cracked there.

  • Hey Don, nice quick fix. Will save labor & $$$ in the end. An once of prevention … or in this case
a stitch in time. Stay well, Joe

  • that particular mtd style blower design they all crack there. and they crack around the studs on the impeller housing as well. they get floppy with all of the cracks. I've done quite a few lately.

  • This is a bit off subject here. I have watched your videos on the Tecumseh HMSK 100 snow blower engines. I am in No. Central FL and we don't have snow blowers here. I recently got one of those engines with a camshaft PTO pulley. What was that used for on the snow blower?? I have no idea and have not seen a video of one on the engine. Thanks

  • MTD is bottom of the barrel. A friend of mine was grinding without safety glasses, and got some metal in his eye. Had to go to Kansas City to get it taken out with a magnet. ALWAYS wear safety glasses.

  • I had a small hairline crack on my Honda track snowblower 1/16” at the bolt center top of auger. My small engine mechanic welded primed and painted a 1/4” shim plate to it. Hopefully it won’t lose its integrity. Donyboy73 do you think this will last?

  • Cracked snow blowers can be good deals as they offer a nice haggling point, if everything else seems decent, and are fairly easy and cheap to repair if you have a welder.
