Today I’m building a king size Mid-Century/Japanese inspired modern platform bed. If you plan to build this for a different size mattress, simply subtract or add the difference in mattress size on the bed. This was a really fun build and a design I wanted to build for a while, so I was really excited to build this one!

Really not something for the ordinary DIY builder who wants a nice bed..
You should make a loft bed
Nice bed but I have a few questions: Why did you opt for such large wood, especially 2 by 4 slats instead of 1 by somethings? After everything is screwed in and you flip the bed at 3:56, aren't those 2x4 dependent on the strength of the screws anyway? Given the weight of all of that wood and the manner of assembly this frame it looks quite difficult to maintain. I imagine disassembly/reassembly would be difficult when moving. For the price and effort, I wonder if something from Ikea would be a better idea. Nonetheless, do you have any updated plans that allow for a a more manageable disassembly?
