Building an Outdoor Fireplace (with tips from a professional mason!)

I am SO EXCITED to share our biggest project yet!!! Our outdoor fireplace with bench seating is pretty stinking amazing and we’re sharing the entire process in this video. I designed this outdoor fireplace to complement our home’s French colonial exterior. We’re going for an “old world French countryside” feel and I think we nailed it!
We hired a man named Tony to lay the brick and stone and he shared a ton of great tips and tricks, drawing from his 40+ years of experience as a third generation stone mason! (And he was a real sport, answering my many, MANY questions, all while having a camera in his face the entire time! Thank you Mr. Tony!) I’m thrilled he was so generous in sharing his knowledge and skill so I can pass it onto you! (If you’re in the central Kentucky area and are on the hunt for a mason, I’d be happy to give you his info.)
