Best “No Welder” Aluminum Welding Rods? Alumiweld vs Bernzomatic vs Hobart

BRANDS TESTED: Hobart, Blue Demon, Bernzomatic, Master-Weld, Saker, Iceyyyy, Simple, and Alumiweld (sold at Harbor Freight). Which low temperature welding or brazing rods are best? Low temperature welding rods are designed to melt at approximately 730F while aluminum melts at approximately 1220F. All welding rods tested for melting point, tensile strength, and other bonding characteristics. The best performing brand is really put to the test when it is used to patch a hole in a cylinder head. • The top 4 low temperature aluminum brazing/welding rods are pretty impressive, and I’ll definitely be using them in the future. Also, thank you for generously supporting the channel. I’ve never had any sponsors and plan to keep it that way to ensure unbiased test results. I’m looking forward to reading your suggestions for future video ideas! Thanks again, Todd

  • wish you would have tried muggy weld rods. I bought some years ago and never tried them and actually dont know where they got to but they were expensive

  • 4:07 They have the labels for the last two weld-joints switched --- the angle-joint is marked as a T-joint, and the T-joint is marked as an angle-joint

  • you have to clean the object to be welded with a stainless-steel brush

  • Nifty ! I wish you would test "super alloy 1" .... its suppose to do almost any metal to almost any other. Has anyone tried it or an alt ?

  • the crack where the cylinder head was repaired was cooler because the flame could not travel into the crevice all that well. the rest of the head's inside surface was in contact with the flame and pressure insuring more heat applied there.
